Leather Furniture by Tortie Hoare

Furniture designer Tortie Hoare’s motivation behind her design is simple – it must be ergonomic, durable and aesthetically pleasing. This year Tortie has researched methods of creating structural 3D shapes that are environmentally conscious and an alternative to using plastic or resin. FEIT Reconnaissance : Hand Sewn S/S 2012 Collection

Feit‘s silent protest to keep the craft alive is note worthy on so many levels. Since 2005, the small team of shoe makers dedicated to the art of hand-sewn shoes have been catering to individuals and retailers with a taste for customization. After two years of an exclusive online presence as artists of traditional shoe making, Feit is partnering with one key retailer per city to introduce its first luxury retail collection.

Zana Bayne Leather

You’d kind of expect the designer of Lady Gaga’s custom-made leather harnesses to come from a fashion-forward course like “New Genres”. Zana Bayne not only graduated with a BFA in this subject from San Francisco Art Institute, her eponymous leather line was also already a favorite of other well-known figures, like Katy Perry, Ciara, Kelis, and Milla Jovovich, before Lady Gaga joined her clientele.
